Important Update

IAM’s Food Assistance Program

January, 2026

At IAM, our mission has always been simple and resolute: to stand with our neighbors during times of crisis and ensure that no one faces hunger alone.

Due to recent and significant changes, we are writing to share an important update to our food assistance program. Beginning this year, neighbors seeking food assistance will be able to visit IAM once every two weeks, rather than weekly as during the past year.

This decision was not made lightly. Funding from government programs designed to address food insecurity has been drastically reduced, sharply limiting our resources available for food purchases. At the same time, the rising food costs have reduced the purchasing power of every dollar we spend. As a result, these challenges have required IAM to adjust our protocols so that we can continue serving as many neighbors as possible.

Even with these changes, our commitment to Henderson County remains unwavering. IAM will continue to serve neighbors facing crisis with the resources available to us. We will also work to coordinate with other food pantries throughout the county to ensure neighbors are aware of all available options for food assistance.

Importantly, IAM will be relying on the generosity of our community more than ever. Donations and financial support are essential to sustaining our food program so that we can respond to the growing need we see every day. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has supported IAM in the past, and we are confident that, working together, we can help our neighbors in need have the reassurance of knowing food will be on the table.

Thank you for standing with IAM and offering care and support to neighbors during some of life’s most difficult moments. Your compassion and support make this vital work possible.

With gratitude,

The IAM Team
